Following KGH Customs Services, KGH, recent expansion into the UK, the company continues to strengthen its position in Europe by acquiring Hermes & Richard AG, a Swiss-based customs service provider serving Switzerland, Germany and France.

Felix Gremminger, former owner and chairman of the board of Hermes & Richard and Lars Börjesson, CEO of KGH.

KGH has constantly grown its business in recent years by expanding its operations to more European countries, adding additional capabilities and more capacity. Expanding to Switzerland is a natural progress given the country’s importance in European trade and KGH’s presence in neighboring countries, through which a vast majority of the goods passes. The acquisition is yet another step in KGH’s development to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of trade and customs management in Europe.

– Switzerland plays a central role in European trade with its central location and as a trading partner with the EU, says Lars Börjesson CEO of KGH. The acquisition strengthens our abilities to facilitate trade for both Swiss and European companies. Furthermore, Swiss customs handling is increasingly being digitized. We hope to contribute to the development with the services and knowledge we provide.

Hermes & Richard service range extends from customs and fiscal advice to the completion of all customs formalities. The company is based in the border triangle of Switzerland, Germany and France and operates in all three countries via own offices at key locations.

– Becoming a part of KGH is an exciting step that will provide our customers with more services and resources, not to mention the access to KGH’s international coverage. Similarly, we look forward to helping KGH’s customers with their Swiss trade, says Patrick Zenhäusern, CEO of Hermes & Richard. It is a great opportunity to perform in a powerful network of professionals in trade and customs management.

– Furthermore, being a part of KGH will further strengthen Hermes & Richard’s position as an independent service provider, adds Felix Gremminger, former owner and chairman of the board of Hermes & Richard.

– Hermes & Richard has been a partner to KGH for several years. They were our first choice when we decided to enter Switzerland, and we are happy that we have been able to complete the acquisition. It is a well-managed company, with high competence and strong potential. Together we can further develop the business, benefiting both new and existing customers, Mr Börjesson ends.
