At KGH, efforts and initiatives relating to sustainability come from within – from all employees and from every part of the organisation. Sustainability is a natural part of the day-to-day business.

With the company mission “Facilitate trade for sustainable growth”, KGH has chosen to take a clear stand and make sustainability an important part of its day-to-day operations. The company view is that sustainability is a natural part of the business and not just some charity on the side. As a part of this, KGH has created the KGH Sustainability Foundation to explore how the company can contribute to a more sustainable future.

The objective of the foundation is to centralise and co-ordinate sustainability initiatives that go beyond the responsibilities of the line organisations. These include donations and providing free access to customs consultancy and declarations for charity partners, as well as broader internal sustainability projects that improve the company’s ability to meet the UN’s sustainable development goals. Efforts include mapping existing sustainability initiatives at the local and regional level in order to co-ordinate and target our contributions in a way that reflects KGH’s identity and engages every member of KGH’s team.

With this process, sustainability initiatives come from within – from all of KGH’s employees and from every part of the organisation. This engages employees and empowers them to create and influence sustainability efforts.

“Sustainability is core in everything we do at KGH”, says Anita Graff, COO at KGH and Chair at the Sustainability Foundation. “I feel proud and strongly committed to work at a company with sustainability at the top of the agenda.”
