Professor Dr. David Widdowson, Director of KGH Trade and Customs Academy and the driving force behind KGH’s European Customs Law Accredited Training program (ECLAT) and KGH’s EU’s Customs Code Navigator (UCC Navigator), has been awarded the ”The Order of Australia” for his “significant service to higher education in the field of international trade and Customs”.
“The Order of Australia” is a respected Australian award, given to individuals who made extraordinary efforts for the Australian society. The award was announced on International Customs Day – very fitting considering what Professor Widdowson is celebrated for.
“David as dedicated his entire career to international trade and customs”, says Lars Karlsson, Managing Director of KGH’s Global Consulting business. “He is very well respected and is extremely knowledgably in his area of expertise. Among all that he has accomplished is also KGH’s online education program, ECLAT, and the UCC Navigator, an impressive online tool to more easily manage the new EU Customs legislation. On behalf of everyone at KGH, I would like to congratulate our colleague with this tremendous honor that acknowledges individuals that mark the extraordinary. We are privileged to work with David – he ensures the highest quality at the KGH Trade & Customs Academy.”
Professor Widdowson has already received several prestigious awards in the past, including the Australian Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Award for Education and Training. He serves as the CEO of the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES), the world’s leading provider of training, education and research in the highly specialised areas of customs, excise and border. In this capacity he heads-up the KGH Customs & Trade Academy.
KGH’s ECLAT program represents the most inclusive, innovative training program of its kind. It provides a comprehensive, unrivalled coverage of all aspects of EU customs law and procedures. The program – which offers both online and class-room training – utilizes the latest in learning techniques and draws on the curricula of the world’s leading customs university. All KGH online training can be offered with or without tutor support.
KGH’s ‘UCC Navigator’, available in 23 languages, allows for a visual way to navigate the complexity of the EU’s new Union’s Customs Code, which must be read in conjunction with the Delegated Act, the Transitional Delegated Act and the Implementing Act to gain a proper understanding and interpretation of the legal provisions. UCC Navigator offers a free 7-Day trial to experience the tool first-hand.
