About the course
We introduce the concepts, principles and processes relating to Special Procedures, including Storage – including customs warehousing and free zones; Processing – including inward and outward processing; and Specific Use – including temporary admission and end-use. We examine all associated processes as well as the respective roles and responsibilities of Customs and members of the trading community.


What you learn
On successful completion of this topic, you will be able to independently handle standard and more complex situations and related tasks relating to Special Procedures (other than transit, which is addressed in Topic 10). This includes having a broad understanding and detailed knowledge of the following concepts and systems and being able to apply and use this knowledge in your daily activities as a Customs professional:

 

Legislative Provisions
You will gain a detailed knowledge of the legislative provisions relating to Special Procedures, including the general provisions.

Storage
You will gain a broad understanding and detailed knowledge of the processes and procedures associated with Storage, including customs warehousing and free zones. This includes a detailed knowledge and understanding of requirements relating to placing goods under the special procedure, use of information certificates (INF) and discharging the special procedure.

Specific Use
You will gain a broad understanding and detailed knowledge of the processes and procedures associated with Specific Use, including temporary admission and end-use. This includes a detailed knowledge and understanding of requirements relating to placing goods under the special procedure, use of information certificates (INF) and discharging the special procedure.

Processing
You will gain a broad understanding and detailed knowledge of the processes and procedures associated with Processing, including inward and outward processing. This includes a detailed knowledge and understanding of requirements relating to placing goods under the special procedure, use of information certificates (INF) and discharging the special procedure.

Roles and Responsibilities
You will gain a clear understanding and knowledge of the respective roles and responsibilities associated with the different categories of Special Procedures.
